Philadelphia Eagles @ New York Giants Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012 1 p.m. ET

The NFC East division title is in the hands of the Dallas Cowboys and the Washington Redskins coming into the final week of the 2012 NFL regular season. The defending Super Bowl champion New York Giants were thought to have a tight grip on the division lead with the Redskins struggle to come to form with Robert Griffin III and the Cowboys dealing with the lack of a running game, but now Dallas and Washington are two of the hottest teams in the NFL and will be playing for the division crown on Sunday at FedEx Field. As a result of the Giants being knocked out of contention for the NFC East division title, the defending champions only have one more option in terms of clinching a playoff berth to keep their title defense alive. New York must get the best of the lowly Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday at MetLife Stadium in order to stay alive, but they’ll need much more than that to clinch a playoff berth. Along with needing to beat the Eagles on Sunday, the Giants will also need the Cowboys to lose as well as the Minnesota Vikings and Chicago Bears. Although both the Redskins and Green Bay Packers are favored to get the best of their matchups against the Cowboys and Vikings, those games could go either way on Sunday. The Bears on the other hand should get the best of the division rival Detroit Lions, but even that matchup isn’t set in stone in terms of the outcome with the Lions more than capable of taking down a struggling Bears squad. Regardless of the other outcomes needed to officially punch their ticket into the playoffs once again, the Giants will have one focus on Sunday at home with the Eagles in their crosshairs. Even though the Eagles haven’t been the team that everyone predicted to be playoff bound this season, Philadelphia can still be a force to be reckoned with on any given Sunday. Not only can the Eagles surprise the Giants at home, but they’ll have a rested and eager Michael Vick ready to get his potential final start for Philadelphia. With that being said, anything is possible this weekend as Vick might be able to lead the Eagles to victory on the road. At this point in time, the Giants have been dubbed the favorites to get the win with a -7 point spread.

Prediction: Giants -7
