Pittsburgh Steelers (-1) @ Dallas Cowboys (+1) Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012 4:25 p.m. ET

After winning two consecutive games against the Philadelphia Eagles and Cincinnati Bengals, the Dallas Cowboys have finally gotten back over .500 with a newfound sense of purpose heading into the final three games of the regular season. With the past two wins, the Cowboys are still in the hunt for the NFC East division title. The defending Super Bowl champion New York Giants still have the edge in the division standings, but their chances of repeating as division champs suffered a blow with the Washington Redskins getting the best of Eli Manning and company in Week 13. Now that Robert Griffin III’s Redskins have won four games in a row, things have gotten much more interesting in the NFC East with New York, Washington and Dallas all having legitimate shots at winning the division title at season’s end. All three teams will have something to play for in the remaining three weeks of the season with the division title and playoff aspirations on the line for all three franchises. With the division lead, the Giants have to win the remaining three games to stay atop of the division with one loss costly enough to knock them out of contention for the division title. Although certain outcomes over the next three weeks much go in favor of the Cowboys, Dallas’ playoff hopes remain alive moving forward making every game from here on out a must-win situation. Basically, the playoffs have already started for the Cowboys as they must not lose from here on out if they intend on playing in the postseason. As for the Pittsburgh Steelers, the same scenario presents itself for Ben Roethlisberger and company as they must bounce back from the loss to the San Diego Chargers last week and come out with a win over Tony Romo’s squad. Every game from here on out for the Steelers will be just as important and crucial for Pittsburgh’s playoff hopes making this a do-or-die situation for both teams. With Big Ben back under center for the Steelers, Pittsburgh was thought to begin firing on all cylinders once again, but struggled to put away a bad Chargers team last weekend. The same problems may continue for the Steelers moving forward with the Cowboys as hungry as ever to make the postseason. At this point in time, the Steelers have been dubbed the favorites to get the win at home with a -1 point spread. Pittsburgh may have one of the best defenses in the league, but I believe Dallas will get the win at home.

Prediction: Cowboys +1
