NFL Week 1
The first week of the NFL season has ended, and with it, a new set of Power Rankings has been set. There are a few surprises during this week’s games, with the balance of power shifting towards one team or another. The one thing that will give fans hope for their teams is the fact that it is only Week 1, and there are still 16 more weeks to go in the regular season. As you can imagine, performances during the preseason may not matter as much now, so hopefully teams will perform much better. The power rankings going into Week 2 are:
Rank Team
(+1) New England Patriots (1-0)
(+2) Green Bay Packers (1-0)
(+13) Buffalo Bills (1-0)
(+2) Arizona Cardinals (1-0)
(+7) Cincinnati Bengals (1-0)
(-1) Denver Broncos (1-0)
(+7) San Diego Chargers (1-0)
(+18) San Francisco 49ers (1-0)
(-1) Dallas Cowboys (1-0)
(+3) Kansas City Chiefs (1-0)
(+10) Atlanta Falcons (1-0)
(+11) St. Louis Rams (1-0)
(-12) Seattle Seahawks (0-1)
(-11) Indianapolis Colts (0-1)
(+5) Carolina Panthers (1-0)
(-9) Philadelphia Eagles (0-1)
(+12) Tennessee Titans (1-0)
(-8) Baltimore Ravens (0-1)
(-8) Detroit Lions (0-1)
(-11) Pittsburgh Steelers (0-1)
(-2) New York Giants (0-1)
(-7) Miami Dolphins (1-0)
(+1) Chicago Bears (0-1)
(+3) New York Jets (1-0)
(-7) Minnesota Vikings (0-1)
(-9) New Orleans Saints (0-1)
(-5) Houston Texans (0-1)
(+4) Washington (0-1)
(+1) Jacksonville Jaguars (0-1)
(+1) Tampa Bay Buccaneers (0-1)
(-3) Oakland Raiders (0-1)
(-7) Cleveland Browns (0-1)
The biggest move by a team would have to be the Seattle Seahawks, as they lost against the St. Louis Rams 34-31 in overtime, and from that loss they went from being ranked #1 to rank #13. Seahawks fans may be disappointed right now, but it is only for the first week, as they are a strong enough team to get back on track. However, teams that did poorly last season that could improve much more and even possibly get to the playoffs are: Titans, Rams, Falcons, 49ers, and Bills. It is still too early to tell which NFL teams will rank higher or lower, but at least you can see where they stand before going into Week 2 and see if they have a chance to continue rising or will fall back down the rankings.
