Week 14 betting favorites
Last week’s games left certain teams very happy, especially as they move on to become the Week 14 betting favorites; which is not an easy thing to hold. It will be a tough week for the Arizona Cardinals and the Kansas City Chiefs, not only to win their matches, but also beat the spread. Several other NFL teams are going against tough opponents, and covering the spread may be harder than it seems. The Minnesota Vikings have gone 4-0 straight up and 3-1 against the spread in the last four games, with their loss coming in last week. However, the Vikings are looking to get back with a win on Thursday against the Cardinals. The Cardinals are a 7.5 favorite at home, so it won’t be an easy task for the Vikings to overcome. Seeing as how the Cardinals have a 3-2 against the spread in their last five games, they may win the match, but may not cover the spread. The biggest favorite of Week 14 would be the Kansas City Chiefs, as they started out with a 7.5-point favorite, but with the amount of action being seen, it went up to 10 points. The Chiefs are on a streak, with 6-0 straight up and against the spread, so the San Diego Chargers will be hard pressed to win, let alone cover the spread with their 0-9 ATS record. Another favorite, the Cincinnati Bengals, will be facing the Pittsburgh Steelers at home, so they will have the advantage in that regard. The Bengals are only given a 3-point favorite, as the Steelers have done very well with 4-1 SU and ATS in their last five games as a road underdog. This will be an interesting game, which could go either way. One team we never thought would be in this situation is the New England Patriots. After losing at home to the Philadelphia Eagles, they have now lost two straight weeks. The Patriots are now on the road against the Houston Texans, as a 3.5-point favorite, although the Texans have gone 4-1 SU and ATS in their last five games. If the Patriots continue playing like they have during those two losses, we may see them in the underdog section of the sportsbooks.
